Moonlit 5K 2022

Moon Area Education Foundations had our 3rd annual Moonlit 5K on Friday, May 13th, 2022! All proceeds benefit Moon Area School teacher grants, student scholarships, STEAM initiatives, lifetime fitness/wellness, and outdoor classrooms! The 5K also featured food trucks, live music, and family fun!



Thursday, May 12th - Pre-Event T-Shirt Pick Up

On Thursday evening we had our pre-event shirt pick-up at the Moon Area High School. Thank you to all of our student runners and volunteers who helped pass out event t-shirts and made pick-up quick and easy!



Friday, May 13th - Event Day!

Thank you to everyone who supported the MAEF Moonlit 5K! MAEF brings together a variety of district groups from sports to the arts to multigenerational families and alumni to celebrate that fitness, health, and wellness are the centerpiece of a well-rounded education. All proceeds support MAEF’s missions: teacher classroom grants, student scholarships, STEAM initiatives, outdoor classrooms, and lifetime fitness/wellness.


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

4:30PM - Gates open HOME SIDE! Event shirt pickup if you missed Curbside

5:00PM - HS Jazz Ensemble on Stage. Food Trucks Open

5:30PM - Percussion Ensemble on Stage

6:00PM - Elementary Choirs~ National Anthem on Stage. 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins in Tiger Stadium

6:20PM - Six Scholarship Winners Recognized on Stage

6:30PM - MS Chamber Choir on Stage. Event shirt pickup ends

6:45PM - MS Strings Ensemble on Stage

6:55PM - 5K begins in Tiger Stadium

7-9 PM - Ashley Mullens featuring Gregg Campanyo on Stage

8:00PM - HS Jazz Ensemble performs in HS Auditorium

8:15PM - 5K Prize Presentation Top 3 male & female finishers on stage

9:00PM - THANK YOU!

We were proud to have MAHS student photographers Maddie Moore, Samantha Hahka, Ava Estright, and Nithya Kaarthi take all of our event photos!


And we are very grateful for Nick Barthen, Alan Fear, and the MASD Music department for showcasing our students’ musical talents!

We also welcomed local artists Ashley Mullens featuring Gregg Campayno to the stage this year to finish out the evening.
