Students in Mr. Finn and Mr. Hilpert’s Adapted Technology Education classes at Moon Area Middle School spent the school year building a storage shed. Throughout the project, they practiced valuable skills in carpentry, measurement, and engineering.

This hands-on learning experience was made possible through a grant from the Moon Area Education Foundation and Eaton Corporation. Although the shed is almost complete, it will continue to provide future lessons in wiring, plumbing, and interior finishing.

Community Collaboration

Special thanks go to Moon Area High School and Parkway West Career and Technology Center students Julius Minarik and Luke Ashberry, who stepped in to help complete the roof when the project became more than middle school students could safely manage.

Looking Ahead

The shed will be used to store tools and materials for outdoor projects such as:

  • Car washes

  • Gardening

  • Bike repairs

  • Painting
